New Formats, New Delivery, Your Choice
We also are making the newsletter available to you in several different formats.  We hope many of you will help us reduce the costs associated with producing a newsletter by choosing to receive one of the electronic versions of the newsletter.  However, we will continue to send the printed version by bulk mail, at least until the costs become prohibitive or the mail becomes too unreliable (due to excessive delays in handling bulk not-for-profit mail).

We are asking you to choose to receive an electronic version of the newsletter if possible.  We will keep track of your preference and  send you your newsletter accordingly.

EMail Notification
With this choice, we will sent you a short Email letting you know the newsletter has been posted to the www.phw.org website.  You can go there when you want and either read and print the HTML version or download the PDF version.

HTML EMail
The HTML EMail will contain the newsletter contents.  HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language and has been the standard for web pages.  You can read HTML EMails in any modern EMail client program such as Microsoft Outlook Express.  You can print it if you desire.  The downside is that it will not have the nice layout associated with the printed newsletter or the PDF version.  All of the articles will be lined up one after another.  The pictures may or may not come through as intended, depending on whether you are connected to the internet when you open the HTML file in your EMail client or web browser.

The upside is that it is a small file, easily read by your Internet Browser program, i.e., Internet Explorer.

PDF Attachment EMail
The PDF Attachment will be a 300-600 KB file attached to a simple EMail.  PDF stands for Portable Document Format.  The big advantage of this format is that when you look at or print this file, it will look exactly like the printed newsletter.  You will need to have the Adobe Acrobat Reader program installed on your computer.  Many computers come with this program pre-installed.  Or you can download it free from Adobe.  There is a link at the www.phw.org web site that you can click that will take you directly to the Adobe download page.  This is unfortunately a very large file, around 12 MB, so it takes a while to download.  However, you only have to do this once.  Having it will allow you to read and print the many documents now being published as PDF files.

Giving Possession

Are you wanting a blessing?  There is a specific blessing for RTF ministers in Joshua 1:1-9. If you haven’t read this passage recently, may I encourage you to do so?  There is tremendous revelation, promise, encouragement, and direction here that Jesus Christ has for you and me TODAY.

While I was reading this passage in early October, God’s revelation begin flooding into my spirit.  It became a very special encounter with the Holy Spirit, resulting in encouragement, challenge and a (further) change in my identity.

There is one aspect of the revelation that I want to share with you.  This was very significant to me as I received a deeper insight into the awesomeness of God’s partnering with us, particularly to those of us who are bringing Restoring the Foundations ministry into others’ lives.

The revelation starts in chapter 1, verse 2, where God says to Joshua, “Moses My servant is dead;  now therefore arise, cross this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them, to the sons of Israel.  (NAS)

The revelation continues in verse 3; “Every place on which the sole of your foot treads, I have given it to you, just as I spoke to Moses.”

Further encouragement occurs, followed by verse 6; “Be strong and courageous, for you shall give this people possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.”

Notice that God gives the land, but the Israelites had to possess it.  God then gives the land to Joshua, but he and the people have to conqueror it and possess it.  Finally, in verse 6, Joshua is told that he will give possession of the land to the people.

Of course, we know they had to do the fighting to actually defeat the various “ites” living in the land.  They had to clear the land, city by city, king by king.  While it was true that God had given them the “legal“ right to the land, the title deed, they still had to remove the current inhabitants of the land in order to actually possess their gift from God.

The Holy Spirit illuminated for me the application of this example/typology to the RTF ministry. “As you and others bring Restoring the Foundations ministry into a person’s life, you are ‘giving’ them their land to possess.  You are a ‘Joshua’ as you lead the battle and help them reclaim ‘their’ ‘promised land’ from the ‘ites’ (strongholds and strongmen) living in ‘their’ land.  Then you equip them to maintain it and continue to possess more territory.  You will always be successful at this as long as you are diligent to do the things God directed Joshua to do.”

Let me encourage you to engage in the Restoring the Foundations ministry with renewed sense of purpose, with clear awareness of God’s promise to be with us and His enabling our success and overcoming.  What an awesome blessing to partnership with the Lord Jesus Christ to give people possession of “their” land.

Healing House Receiver
Life continues to be rich and full for me. I'm walking as a new person and am in awe how God is rewriting my life. My deepest heart's desires are becoming a reality. As I trust Him in new and unique situations, He keeps "growing me up" more and more. Not only am I discovering what the talents are that He has placed within me, but I'm challenged to use them. It's as though treasure once buried is emerging and being brought to life. It's exciting. I did have a brush with rejection one day last week, but pulled out my notes and my journaling (from time spent with you all) and pounced on the enemy with my Godly Beliefs!

 As a friend told me she shared with you, "Yes!” I have lost a lot of weight, about 45 pounds. God receives ALL the glory, for I have done nothing! It's the most incredible thing and comes as a result of being set free!

I know it's tied in with the healing I received that stemmed from the childhood eczema trauma. It's neat, these "treasures" God gives us!

Trainee-Team
Our training as a Restoring the foundations Ministry team has been a tremendous experience for us.  RTFM is without a doubt the most effective, Biblically solid approach to counseling we have encountered. Being  trained in this program affected our lives on many levels.

The initial point of impact, of course, was receiving the ministry ourselves.  This is the first step of the training process.  Then, as we entered the subsequent phases of the training, we experienced the joy and privilege of being able to lead others through such a thorough healing journey.  Although we’ve served the Lord for many years in various ways, we have rarely enjoyed such fruitful ministry as when we lead people through Restoring the Foundations Ministry.

 The RTFM training model allowed us to receive the ministry and instruction on site in our home church.  This approach to training has expanded our church’s ability to equip many teams which otherwise would not have the opportunity to be trained.  We, and our church family, are grateful to the Kylstras and their staff for providing this powerful ministry in such a practical context.

Our trainers often reminded us that Restoring the Foundations Ministry is not a ‘glamorous’ kind of ministry.  Although that is true, we have found RTF to be a ministry of profound impact, and it has been extremely fulfilling to be involved.

2002 Mission India

We are excited that we have been invited to bring Restoring the Foundations ministry into the land of India and Sir Lanka.  For four weeks in February and early March we will be teaching and training Christian leaders.

We have been invited by  Dr. P. G. Vargis (Indian Evangelistic Association - 2000 plus churches) to teach and demonstrate Restoring the Foundations in his annual conference for senior pastors and leadership in New Delhi . Following the conference we will spend some time in the field with individual pastors and at Bible Colleges. 

In addition, we are excited that our friends Darryl and Lenora Buck, CI India missionaries, have invited us to expose the pastors relating to CI India to Restoring the Foundations ministry. 

 Our strong desire is to see one couple fully trained in Restoring the Foundations ministry in the CI India Network. We will begin this training with a very gifted and experienced couple, the Rongongs, in North East India.  CI Pastors John and Tiru Jesudason from Sri Lanka will join us to help start this training process.

 After these leadership conferences, we will visit our “son and daughter” (John and Tiru Jesudason) in Sri Lanka.  They are fully trained Restoring the Foundations ministers and have been impacting many through their church, Bible College, and home (they have thirteen foster children!).   We expect to impart into their congregation all they can receive.

Can You Help Us?
We are praying for the finances for this trip.  It is, of course, a totally missions trip.  The total cost will be around ten thousand dollars.  Three thousand has been given already.  We ask you to help us carry God’s vision, His healing message, and His equipping tools to our Indian brothers and sisters!  Would you pray about being part of this trip, both in terms of finances and prayer?

It Just Keeps
Getting
Better and Better

As we finished our time at the October Advanced Seminar I could say only one thing, “This just keeps getting better and better.”  And this year was by far the best!

It was astounding to hear the things that God is doing all over the world. As we took notice of what people were testifying, we could only be blessed by the work God is doing.

Every year there is new revelation. We leave with the tools to Advance further in our Ministry.  I know I will advance with more confidence and courage, for I now know, “I am success.”  The teaching Chester brought to the group, “You are Success,” encouraged all of us to walk in our God-given identity, Success, and to expect success for all to whom we minister.  Praise God, this is awesome.

Betsy shared advances in the ministry to Blocked Emotions.  It was easy to see the additional freedom people will obtain as a result of this teaching.

Crawford and Dorathy Railey shared and demonstrated that for deeper, more effective healing we need to have a diligent approach to the principle of Sonship.  This is powerful revelation coming forth in the Body of Christ at this time.  It is time for us to advance from slavery to sonship!

Pastor Kathy Tolleson shared on Sexual Imprinting and how to obtain freedom from ungodly imprinting.  She had wonderful testimonies of the restoration power of our God.

As I sat at this conference and observed the caliber of speakers and heard the revelation that each one had to share, it became clear to me that Chester and Betsy have undoubtedly reproduced themselves.  There we were from all over the world, each one with his own revelation, his own testimony, his  own advances.  Yet all had been developed from the same foundation; the Restoring the Foundations teachings and the love, the care and the continued support of Betsy and Chester. They have given us the key and we are running with it.  Praise God!!

February 4-7, 2002

Everyone successfully completing a Restoring the Foundations (RTF) Activation Seminar is qualified to bring  RTF Issue-Focused Ministry to their Cell/ Small Group Members.  They have also completed Step I in the training of a church recognized RTF Lay Ministry Team. 

We are pleased to announce that a Restoring the Foundations Activation Seminar is scheduled to be held in Pensacola Beach, FL, starting Monday evening February 4, ending noon Thursday February 6th.  Tommy and Pat James, a seasoned Healing House Network Team, will be leading this seminar.  Please call them at 850-457-6310 for information and registration.  The cost is $150 per person. 

They have been able to make very attractive arrangements at the Best Western hotel in Pensacola Beach, so this is an opportunity to receive training and enjoy Florida's beautiful beaches at a bargain basement cost.

2002 Advanced Conferences

Now you can attend an Advanced Conference in your own part of the country!  Although it is a wonderful experience to travel to the national conference in Destin, FL, where the water is “emerald green” and the sand pure white and the weather “perfect,” it is not always practical for many of us.  Since the Advanced Conferences have been such a significant part of the growth of  the Ministry teams, the Healing House Network has started sponsoring regional conference throughout the nation.

This is so exciting!  From the north to the south, and from the east to the west, there is a conference for you!  While there were two regionals in 2001, there will be three in 2002.

The first one next year will be the NW Regional Advanced scheduled for May 10th and 11th at New Life Christian Center in Yelm, WA.  This very beautiful part of the Northwest is about 50 miles South of Seattle, with an incredible view of Mount Rainer.  This conference last May  was the first for the Northwest with great attendance and fellowship with teams from California to Alaska to Montana.

The next one, the NE Regional Advanced, will happen in York, PA.  City View Community Church will host it June 7th and 8th. York is 1/2 hour South of Harrisberg, PA.  It is a beautiful area with much to do and see.  All North East teams and friends from Canada are invited to join us for this very special time.

The third conference will be the Heartland Regional Advanced.  It will be held in Versailles, IN, at the Christian International Family Worship Center on August 24th and 25th.  One of the unique features of this conference is that the RTF Activation Seminar will be held immediately  before the Advanced  Conference.  This last year 50 enthusiastic people continued right from the Activation into the Advanced.  It was a powerful time of impartation and revelation.

And the fourth and final conference will be the annual National (and International) Advanced Conference held in Destin, FL on the 18th and 19th of October.  This will be the fourth year for this conference. One special speaker, with a miracle healing anointing, has already agreed to minister.

Calling All Trained
RTF Ministry Teams

On April 23-26, 2002, we will be privileged to bring the Restoring the Foundations training to the leaders in the Harvest International Network at their annual leadership conference.  We have been invited to do this training by Pastors Ché and Sue Ahn of Harvest Rock Church in Pasadena, California.  (Pastor Ché and his associate pastor Lou Engle are leaders of The Call, which is drawing thousands, even hundreds of thousands of youth to make radical commitments to the Lord.) They are expecting between 200-300 pastors and leaders to attend, so we need help in overseeing this number of people as they "practice" in their small groups. 

The schedule is as follows: Tuesday, the 22nd, we will do an abbreviated version of the Healing/ Deliverance Seminar. Wednesday through Friday we will lead the RTF Activation Seminar using the Issue-Focused Ministry publications. We very much need a number of teams (or singles) to help. 

If you are a trained RTF church lay ministry team member you are eligible to apply to help.  You will be responsible for your own transportation and food, and likely your housing.  While the church is working on providing some housing, the number of people in the church who have spare bedrooms is limited and so housing can't be guaranteed for the large number of helpers needed.

Not only could this be a significant step in your training and experience (and a lot of fun!), you would be making a special Love Gift to the Body of Christ at a much needed time.  We usually find that as when we function as trainers we receive as much as we give.  Please prayerfully consider this opportunity to help serve and equip pastors and other leaders in a worldwide network. 

During the conference, there will be excellent speakers each evening and John and Paula Sanford will be doing some special teaching and ministry over the weekend.

New Educational
Opportunities

As you read the following announcements, know that the Lord has given us much favor and answered our prayers to take the concepts of Restoring the Foundations into the educational arena where many additional lives can be affected.

Christian Life School of Theology

Great news! The Restoring the Foundations course was accepted this fall by Christian Life School of Theology (CLST, Dr. Ron Cottle, Columbus, Georgia).   What does this mean?  It means several things.

We (Chester and Betsy) can now come to any church affiliated with CLST and bring the RTF course to your students.  They can receive CLST credit as part of becoming RTF ministers.

How is this course different from the Healing/ Deliverance seminar that many churches are familiar with?  For CLST, the Restoring the Foundations book has been divided into two "half" books, each to be taught in the usual CLST ten-hour time block.  The first ten hours covers the overview of Restoring the Foundations ministry, supportive chapters such as The Cross, The Law, Hearing God's Voice, and Weapons of Warfare, and the first two problem/ ministry areas of Sins of the Fathers and Resulting Curses, and Ungodly Beliefs.  In the second class the chapters on Soul/Spirit Hurts, Demonic Oppression, and Strongholds and Ministry Formats are covered.

CLST Host Churches Needed
Currently, we are looking for two or three churches who would like to have us come present these classes.  Once these courses have been taught and evaluated at several churches, there is the potential for them to be videoed so they can be sent out to the many churches that host CLST classes.

We are available after July, 2002 to lead these classes if you are a CLST church.  Please consider helping with this next crucial step. So this leads to more good news!

Wagner Leadership Institute Credit

So this leads to more good news! Because we have been approved as Wagner Leadership Institute faculty, anyone who attends a Restoring the Foundations seminar can register and obtain credit with Wagner Leadership Institute (WLI).  And there is even more good news.  Any RTF seminar, personal ministry, and training conducted by a qualified Healing House Network RTF ministry team is eligible for WLI credit.  Wagner students, old and new, take advantage of this opportunity!  Please call the dean of WLI for details and procedures  (800-683-9630).

We are so grateful to the Lord for His strong presence during the WLI Power-Based Counseling Fast Track we led last September. One student commented, "I have been through a lot of different streams of training for counseling and deliverance, and this was by far the most practical, balanced, thorough and useful training I have ever received.  God bless you."

Vision International University

Is this too much good news to take in?  Dr. Stan DeKoven, president of Vision International University in Ramona, California, has approved Restorations the Foundations for course credit with Vision beginning in 2002.  Vision International provides both a distance education program and classes on-site in the local church setting.

We are delighted to have this opportunity to work with Vision as well as these other very fine Christian Education Institutions.

Christlikeness

Trying to be unreligious while at the same time experiencing a deep intimate relationship with Father is not easy. Christ likeness costs everything. In some ways, it is like beginning a journey that you have never traveled before. You stand at the torn veil with your heart burning, full of collected emptiness, desperate to know God in an intimate way. Mediocrity has eaten you up. You are lonely and misunderstood. You want so much more of God. Your sense of desperation is growing into a conviction that it will happen someday, but you don't know when. You even have times when resignation sets in and you give up. You might even feel like a spiritual orphan because your disappointments with spiritual authority has brought withdrawal and mistrust. You find submission is difficult. You begin to look for your "inheritance" as the Prodigal and lose touch with Sonship or Daughtership.

This Journey of Intimacy with Father behind the torn veil is one of the biggest spiritual risks you will ever take. The baggage of religious trappings must be left at the rent veil. You enter alone. You may bring no credentials, no gifts. This is His territory. A  place where His presence only gives you strength. Eternal purposes are paramount. The ache in your heart for God grows stronger, and you begin to realize that this is one place where the fullness of God you will receive is determined by your emptiness and hunger for Him. There is no pluralism here. There is no distraction, no competition.

You find yourself weeping. When your desire for God finally exceeds your fear, you enter, and now you never want to leave His presence. You begin to understand your ministry. It originates from His throne. It is like a mighty river pure and full of life. Man doesn't assign this. There is no odor of sweat here. Only God can initiate this ministry. You are finding the fulfillment of your heart's desire. Nothing can ever replace life within the veil.

Suddenly you are aware of the wood, hay and stubble of your own work. You can almost see it go up in smoke. And you vow in your heart that, by His grace, you will never be ruled by busyness again. This is the day that, in letting go, there will be more, an enlargement, new arenas, new horizons with Him.

You wonder why you never "saw" this before. That is when Father gently says to you, as Jesus said to the Pharisees, "Woe unto you who are satisfied." And you weep again in repentance of being so blind, thinking that the work you did was what He wanted. Now, you suddenly become aware that where the torn veil of Father's intimacy is, you have erected a wall of self-protection and it must come down if you are to progress into Christlikeness. And not only that, but other walls that churches, tradition and family have build for you, must go. As quick as these revelations come, that quickly walls can be pulled down.

(We recommend that you pause now and begin the work of renouncing any walls in your life that have blocked intimacy and Christlikeness within you.) 

The tears continue to flow as you think, "I can be real with Him", "If I can 'see' Him I can be like Him." At that moment, you enter His rest. You have stepped into a new realm. A realm not limited by natural things. The Spirit of the Lord permeates everything you think, everything you say and everything you do. You are touched beyond imagination with a love for Him and His love for you. And He is binding up your broken heart and healing your memories. And He is not doing this just for you, but somehow you know He wants "His body" healed and whole.

His presence comforts all who mourn. He gives His people joy that they may be "the planting of the Lord, an oak tree of righteousness constantly bearing fruit, and green leaves that will heal the nations." For it is you who will restore the old waste places. You will reclaim what the enemy has taken. You are called to minister from within the veil. You do not have to take anything anymore or make things happen. You have been behind the veil. Nothing else will ever satisfy you again.

This is the day you discover that you never have to leave the veil again. This is the day you know you can experience His presence in this same way every hour of the day and night. You do not ever need to leave the place of the veil. His presence is with you all the time.

Practice checking in with Father throughout the day. Live and have your being from behind the veil. Your highest calling is to focus on Jesus. Make yourself blind to the obvious. Disallow facts or circumstances to demand a reaction from you. Your thoughts and reactions can block you from hearing from God. Allow His Truth to determine your responses to circumstances.

Experiencing His healing presence behind the torn veil is the key to becoming like Him, as His Word says, "When we see Him, we will be like Him." This is our corporate Destiny: to be formed into the image of Jesus Christ, and this Christlikeness in us will convict the world of sin and unrighteousness.

You have a mission, an assignment. It can only be accomplished thoroughly as you live and have your being behind the torn veil and Christlikeness will follow.
